Health & Wellbeing
All students will have access to a team of nurses available five days a week at the Sanatorium. All students are required to submit a medical declaration form on any pre-existing medical conditions and a review of any prescribed medication is required.
At Concord College International School we take great care to ensure that students are healthy, well cared for and helped to flourish. Individual student wellbeing is at the heart of the Concord ethos.
We encourage students to lead a balanced life here at CCIS with emphasis placed on academic study but not at the expense of personal wellbeing. Growing up, particularly through adolescence, can be a challenging time for young people. Staff at CCIS will ensure that the appropriate care, support and guidance are available for our students.
Teachers, tutors, boarding staff and the Senior Leadership Team all take an oversight of this critical element of student development. This can mean anything from a student’s friendships and emotional state, to their food intake and exercise regime.
Medical Care
Our Medical Care Centre is staffed by Registered Nurses throughout term time during the school day from 7:30am to 5:00pm. Students may receive treatment or rest should the need arise.
There is a local doctor’s clinic nearby and, in the absence of parents, boarders will be accompanied by a nurse/member of staff should they require treatment.

Physical & Emotional Wellbeing
We are keen for students to participate in and to be aware of the vital importance of physical fitness and wellbeing for a healthy and happy life. In addition to timetabled PE lessons for Primary, Middle and Senior students, there will be a variety of extra-curricular sporting activities available for all students based in the sports facilities on campus.
As part of the College’s commitment to the pastoral care of its students, it is recognised that there is occasional need for additional emotional support. CCIS will have a counsellor available to all students to offer personal and independent support to deal with issues including stress and anxiety; bereavement; and loneliness and friendship issues.
Catering
The dining hall offers a healthy and varied selection of food for breakfast, lunch and supper with both Asian and international tastes being catered for. Allergens lists are provided for each dish to enable students with food allergies or intolerances to select appropriately. Special diets can also be catered if the chefs are notified in advance. All students and staff have access to healthy options.
